You will appreciate how this curriculum is written in a manner that prepares students for CAST, and allows your students to to engage in metacognition. Thinking is the cornerstone of good science, and these units encourage students to think scientifically, and embed scientific vocabulary into their discussions and think about their thinking. This is PBL modified in a fashion that is managable in the classroom for all teachers of varied experiences.
